Mistle Thrush

Mistle Thrush

By Michele Habel-Coffey

Parasitic Mistletoe Rising

From the branches way up high

Dropped there by the Mistle Thrush

Excrement and Life

Reaching forth to Christmas

Its tendrils bind the limbs

And are guarded by that grey-white bird

Singing Christmas Hymns

The stormcock craves the berries

And the lovers crave a kiss

A meal inside a belly

A moment lost in bliss

  1. I love the poem! πŸ™‚

I don’t know what the Liebster Award, but someone cursed me with it and demanded that I spread it like a virus.
Your award, if you choose to accept it, is to follow the instructions here: http://missingthemuse.com/2014/12/25/wtf-is-the-liebster-award/

I am sorry if I overlooked anything stating that you decline awards and I will not be offended if you don’t accept it.

  2. Hello Dan and Happy New Year!!! I am attempting to emerge from a period of semi-hibernation, at least with regard to my writing. I am certainly happy to accept an award of any kind, especially acknowledgment from a talent like yourself. I am still trying to figure out how to respond in kind, so forgive me if it takes me a few more days. Merci buckets for the shout out!
